Caring for your flowers
At Devonport Flowers we take great care in selecting the best fresh flowers from market, preparing your order and ensuring it arrives in perfect condition. Below are a few tips to help keep your flowers looking beautiful.
Bouquets and Posies
Do not remove tying ribbon as no further arranging is necessary, re-cut stems, place into a container of warm water and add the flower food provided.
Cut Flowers
Fill a vase with lukewarm water and add the flower food provided. Carefully remove the flowers from the wrapping, remove any foliage which will be under water, and with a sharp knife or scissors make a slanting cut 3.5cm off the stem ends. Arrange flowers as desired and place in a cool position away from draughts, sun and ripening fruit.
Arrangements and Water Filled Boxes
An arrangement or basket is delivered in its own container, these should be watered on arrival and daily. Place in cool location away from heat and draught. Keep in a cool place overnight.
Roses
Fill a vase with lukewarm water and add the flower food provided. With a sharp knife or scissors make a slanting cut 3.5cm out off the stem ends, place in a cool position away from draughts, sun and ripening fruit, every 3-4 days change the water and re-cut the stems.
